Pamir Verticals

The beautiful Pamir Alai region of Karavshin in the Turkestan mountains, where the peaks resemble those of Patagonia in South America, is the most popular area of the CIS for technical rock climbing. Its wonderful wall routes are appreciated by many foreign climbers.

The climbs on Asan, Kotina, Pyramid, Slesova, Anniversary and Peak 4810 in the Karavshin Canyon vary in technical difficulty between 4a to 6b and beyond. The length of the routes often exceeds 1000 metres and reaches a maximum height of 1800 metres on Peak Anniversary. The Lailak Canyon with Admiralteets, Bloka and Islander sports routes of similar difficulty up to a length of 1600 metres on Aksu.

The mild climate and sunny weather, clear rivers and alpine meadows amongst the ice of the 5000 metre peaks allow for quick recovery after hard ascents. New routes can still be climbed and the best time of the year is July to September. The length of your expedition depends on individual plans and can range from 15 to 35 days.

Clients must provide mountain rescue insurance and bring their own personal (rucksack, sleeping bag, etc.), climbing / mountaineering and 1st aid equipment. All activities beyond base camp are your own responsibility. Summit success can not be guaranteed.

"Asia Mountains" arranges transport from Bishkek via Osh, hotel or guest house accommodation and food in the towns and the organisation of the camp including food preparation. Guides and porters may be available at extra cost. Prices and other details by prior arrangement.
