Past and present inhabitants, many of them still following their nomadic habits in the mountainous areas, are well worth studying. Kyrgyz yurta live, clothing and utensils and especially the Shirak carpet production amaze the visitor with originality, colour and variety. The hunt with birds of prey is still popular in some areas.

More than 5000 historical and cultural finds reflect the colourful and long history of Kyrgyzia. There are caves where primitive man lived, there are ruins of cities at the bottom of Issyk Kul and countless mysterious rock drawings on the high plateau of Saymaly-Tash.
